We are very pleased to announce that Nordic Electro Power Oy has been selected as the substation contractor for OX2’s Korkeamaa wind farm in the municipality of Soini, South Ostrobothnia. This significant project strengthens our position as a trusted partner for renewable energy projects in Finland.
Korkeamaa is part of an approx. €400 million investment package announced by OX2 in December 2025, which comprises three wind farms: Korkeamaa (in Soini), Salo-Ylikoski (in Kauhava), and Kannisto (in Halsua). The total capacity of the package is 277 MW, and upon completion, the farms will produce approximately 860 GWh of clean electricity per year. Specifically, 17 wind turbines with a total capacity of 108 MW will be built at Korkeamaa in Soini. The wind farm will be connected to the main grid via a new 110 kV transmission line to Fingrid’s Alajärvi substation, and the farm is estimated to be completed in 2027.
Nordic Electro Power’s responsibilities include the design, construction, and commissioning of the wind farm’s substation on a turnkey basis. We specialize in demanding renewable energy and substation projects, and this undertaking fits perfectly into the core of our expertise. This project is a continuation of Nordic Electro Power’s previously announced and ongoing renewable energy projects across Finland. We are particularly pleased to continue our long-term work in promoting clean and sustainable energy production – step by step toward a greener future in Finland.
